Nasal Saline Irrigation and Steam Inhalation

Non-medicated Nasal Saline Sprays
Nasal saline is a safe and non-addictive treatment for all types of nasal problems. This OTC preparation mists the inside of the nose with moisture, thinning thick nasal secretions and reducing infectious agents.

Medicated Nasal Sprays/Non-medicated Nasal Decongestant Sprays
Medicated decongestant sprays help clear and decongest swollen nasal membranes. Since they work almost immediately, they are especially useful in the initial stages of a common cold or viral infection. Nasal decongestant sprays work in a similar way, but without the medicinal element. They are safe for short-term use and can help protect against sinus infections after a cold and Eustachian tube problems in air travelers. They should not be used longer than 3 to 5 days because they can cause rebound congestion and become habit-forming.
