Choana
A funnel-shaped cavity. Either of the paired openings between the nasal cavity and the nasopharynx.

Chronic
Persisting over a long period of time. Prolonged. For "chronic" rhinosinusitis, it usually refers to 4 or more infections in one year for an infection that last longer than 8 weeks.

Computed tomography
A special radiographic technique that uses a computer to assimilate multiple X-ray images into a two-dimentional cross-sectional image.

Connective tissue
A rather general term for mesodermally-derived tissue that may be more or less specialized. Cartilage and bone are specialized connective tissue, as is blood, but the term is probably better reserved for the less specialized tissue that is rich in extracellular matrix and that surrounds other more highly ordered tissues and organs.

Cranial
Pertaining to the cranium or superior end of the body.
