The causes of sinusitis may be categorized in the following ways:

Anatomical Causes - The anatomy of the sinuses varies tremendously from person to person. In some individuals, anatomical differences may affect breathing and block nasal drainage. Common anatomical causes of sinusitis are a deviated septum and swelling of the turbinates. Read more.
